Title: Network Engineer               

Location: Washington, DC Metro Area

Clearance: TS/SCI w/polygraph


Invictus is looking for experienced Network Engineers to support and maintain customer network infrastructures, optimize, implement and monitor network performance, maintain network availability, recommend and implement network policies, standards, and security procedures, and appropriately represent Invictus by functioning in a customer facing role.


  • Install, maintain, and monitor the operation of the WAN, LAN, and network management tools
  • Manage and operate internal networks and related equipment
  • Install new software, administer security procedures, ensure system back-ups, and monitor and control network performance
  • Troubleshoot highly complex LAN problems
  • Interpret system errors at a basic level assess the risk of events and escalate appropriately to protect client services
  • Evaluate vendor products in hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment, recommend purchases consistent with short and long-term objectives and goals, and present information to management resulting in the purchase and installation of vendor product
  • Provide Tier 2 engineering support during critical operational incidents as necessary
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for operational efficiency
  • Maintain and react to Enterprise grade network monitoring system
  • Help with security audits of the network and improve the security posture
  • Manage the wireless infrastructure, from implementation and optimization to daily operational support
  • Test disaster recovery setups both on a global and on a site basis
  • Team with technical engineers and the service desk to ensure the coordinated management of incidents
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of Incident Management Tools, Knowledge Management tools and of the monitoring procedures and business environment
  • Participate in team initiatives with other engineers for new technology introductions/deployments, and establishing standard architectures that align with best practice principle


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required, 7+ years of experience as a network engineer or administrator working with network HW and SW across the lifecycle
  • 3+ years of experience in WAN and LAN and technical solution architecture
  • Knowledge of firewalls, routers, switches, and layer 2 and 3 protocols
  • Knowledge of managing network configuration, VLANs, VRFs, routing, and subnets
  • Knowledge of system and network architecture practices, tools, and methodologies
  • CCNA or JNCIA required; ITIL v3 preferred
  • Experience with COMSEC equipment and deployment
  • Knowledge of data analytics tools used to capture client traffic flows and demonstrate trends and forecasts
  • Knowledge of Cloud concepts, software defined networking, or other network technology
  • Ability to review and compose technical documentation related to client requirements
  • Candidates must be a US citizen with a current TS/SCI w/polygraph clearance
