Title: Senior Malware Analyst                

Location: Washington, DC Metro Area

Clearance: TS/SCI w/polygraph

Overview:

Invictus is looking for experienced Malware Analysts to working in support of several clients performing dynamic and static analysis and reverse engineering of complex malicious code.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs reverse engineering of malicious code to discover vulnerabilities in binaries, attribution of author, defensive mechanisms to prevent spread of malware
  • Utilize tools such as disassemblers, debuggers, hex editors, unpackers, virtual machines, and network sniffers
  • Extract malware configuration files and IOCs
  • Write technical reports on malware, phishing campaigns, and cyber-attacks
  • Leverage commercial and open source tools for reverse engineering
  • Perform network enumeration and intelligence pivoting to expand findings
  • Recognize high-level language constructs (such as branching statements, looping functions and network socket code) critical to performing a thorough and professional reverse engineering analysis of a binary
  • Demonstrate expert level malware analysis, including: worms, viruses, trojans, rootkits and bots
  • Use advanced knowledge to discover vulnerabilities in binaries, including: format string vulnerabilities, buffer overflow conditions, and the identification of flawed cryptographic schemes and binary obfuscation schemes
  • Provide findings and mitigation recommendations in a detailed technical report
  • Support ad hoc analysis requests from customers as necessary
  • May lead a small team and serve as a mentor to Jr. Malware Analysts

Requirements:

  • HS diploma or GED and 5+ years of experience with application security, network security, reverse engineering, or malware required, or BS degree and 3+ years of hands-on experience
  • Expert level knowledge required with a combination of reverse engineering, malware analysis, computer forensics, intrusions analysis, or software development with the majority of time spent as a malware analyst
  • Experience in program and system analyses with various tools, including IDA Pro, OllyDbg, PCAP tools, or TCP Dump
  • Experience with Assembly programming
  • Ability to be selfmotivated and acquire new expertise; must be able to work in a team environment
  • Candidates must be a US citizen with a current TS/SCI w/polygraph clearance
