Title: Chief Security Officer   

Location: Alexandria, VA            

Clearance: TS/SCI


The Chief Security Officer is responsible for implementing the industrial security program and ensuring company and customer security requirements are met. The successful candidate will interface with all levels of Invictus personnel and government management personnel to ensure contract security compliance with National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), DoD Manual 5205.07, ICD-705 Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities, Contract Security Classification Specification (DD-254) and Program Classification Guides. The position requires a self-motivated candidate that can work independently or in team environment with minimal direction.


  • Manage all aspects of the company's security program, to include:
    • Corporate security program
    • Facility badge access and security system(s)
    • New SCIF build-out and customer certification
    • System Security Plan and Certification
    • Incident Monitoring and Response Plan
    • Insider Threat Program
  • Administer day-to-day security programs: personnel processing, program reviews, document control system, audits & self-inspections, violation investigations & reports, receipt/dispatch/destruction/mail logs, visit certs, etc.
  • Conduct security self-inspections, apply risk mitigation methodologies, support customer assessments, and implement security measures to meet requirements
  • Possess the confidence to make critical security decisions concerning high value contracts and to implement security procedures that will prevent unauthorized access to company and government facilities or information


  • A Bachelor's degree is required, Master's preferred, and 10+ years of experience in an Industrial Security/FSO role
  • FSO certificate required; CSSO/CPSO certificate preferred
  • CPP certification preferrred 
  • Thorough understanding of security databases such as JPAS, eQIP, eFCL and ISFD
  • Self-starter with a commitment to security and the ability to work independently, customer service orientated
  • The ability to interpret company and government security policies and apply them to program operations
  • Provide clear guidance to company employees, and recommend modifications to operations policies or procedures as appropriate
  • Thorough working knowledge of the NISPOM, other relevant DoD security guidance as well as the Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) standards
  • Experience serving as CSSO/CPSO
  • Strong understanding of Physical Security requirements to include collateral Closed Areas and ICD 705 to meet contractual needs
  • Experience in the construction, accreditation, and management of a SCIF
  • Experience creating and conducting initial security briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, pre/post foreign travel briefings and refresher briefings, as appropriate
  • Ability to develop and establish an effective security awareness, training, and education program
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written
  • Current TS/SCI clearance required

 Desired Skills:

  • COMSEC Custodian certificate or experience; Industrial Security Professional certification
  • Prior ISSO/ISSM or alternate ISSO/ISSM experience
  • Knowledge of courier preparation procedures
  • Experience developing and implanting OPSEC plans
  • Knowledge of Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems
  • Experience conducting investigations
