Title: Cyber Security Engineer ~ Network

Location: Reston, VA, Alexandria, VA or Washington, DC

Clearance: TS/SCI with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph

Overview: Invictus is hiring a Cyber Security Engineer with network engineering expertise to provide full life-cycle network security to include support building, implementing and operationally supporting network security efforts throughout various network classification. Candidate will research and develop (R&D) new solutions, as well as identify security risks with existing solution/implementations to help protect infrastructure and users. This candidate should thrive on building security engineering/architecture requirements following ICD 503 requirements, as well as the RMF process, finding security issues and eradicating them.

Responsibilities:

  • Iterate network security posture to better protect against attacks and detect new vectors
  • Lead network efforts to mitigate and investigate security incidents
  • Design, engineer and provide guidance using automation tools and utilize frameworks
  • Evaluate/test new vendor and in-house/cloud-based network initiatives for security issues
  • Plan, research, design and model robust enterprise security architectures for systems hosted on traditional data centers and on cloud providers
  • Develop security engineering requirements, procedures and policies for on-prem, Cloud/container-based systems
  • Conduct applied security research on security standards, authentication tools and protocols in support of cloud/container-based systems using IdAM systems using PKIs and PKI/E technologies
  • Identify network vendor integration issues, security control implementation deficiencies and recommend enhancements
  • Perform vulnerability testing and risk/security assessments
  • Conduct in-depth security engineering reviews and approve proposed systems/application security control implementations used for systems hosted in on-prem, cloud/container-based network deployments
  • Test final security structures and deliver technical reports/formal papers on test findings
  • Interact as the Cyber Security Engineering SME with the JWICS Connection Approval Process (JCAP) liaison, as well as the Network Security Engineering implementation team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems or related technical discipline with 5+ years of work experience; an additional 5 years of work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • Strong knowledge of PKI and PKI-Enabling technologies
  • Experience supporting data science projects a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work independently or as a member of a team
  • Must possess current DoD 8570 IAT III certification or be able to obtain within 90 days of start date
  • Current active TS/SCI clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph
